Second day in Nice 08 July 2017)

Was unable to complete blog due to an issue with setting up bike (Di2) and a very late dinner. Eventually got to bed at 12:40am. Yesterday we obtained French SIM cards for our phones with wonderful assistance provided by the French sales people. After setting up the new SIMS had a very good lunch at one of the many cafes/restaurants surrounding Garibaldi Square. Luke and I then had a further stroll around Nice,while Steve who had just flown in from Sydney via Frankfurt went back to the hotel to unpack.I was also offered the Frankfurt flight as an option to the Qatar Airways flight. Sounds like I made the right choice based on Steve's comments. We visited two beautiful old churches and some photos of the insides of these churches are recorded below. Note the ferry with tbe Warner Bros cartoons. We arrived back at the hotel in the late afternoon to put our bikes together. Everything went well until it came to connecting three wires in the bike frame to three points on the Di2 battery. One of the wires had to be connected to a specific point. Unfortunately, the marker that had been put on the specific wire had disappeared. As all three wires looked exactly the same we didn't want to take any chances with inserting the wrong wire. Therefore, it looked like I would have to await the arrival of the tour mechanic at 2:30am on 09 July 2017 and forgo a pre-tour ride.
